The city of Talkhooncheh is a combination of Persian languages ​​and Qashqai Turks. The people of the city are mostly farmers and cultivate wheat and barley. Most of the city’s farmers go to the lands around the city or near the new Majlisi city and cultivate there. In the last 10 years, some people have migrated from their homeland and settled in cities such as Isfahan, Mobarakeh, Majlisi, or the new city of Baharestan (near Isfahan).

According to the latest population and housing census in 2016, the population of Talkhooncheh is 9924 people and 3104 families, of which 5051 are men and 4873 are women.
