Dovecotes, pigeonnier, doocots, or Colombier is a structure intended to house pigeons or doves. The dovecote consists of several parts, including the main body called the tower, which is the largest and widest central cylinder in each of these monuments and is followed by a fence and a turret. Next to the central dome, there are several peripheral domes or semi-domes and a small coil that is built to prevent the building from slipping. Basically, all pigeon houses have winding stairs and are between two and three stories high. Most pigeon houses also had water well in the center for drinking water. On the other hand, Isfahan pigeon houses have an almost cylindrical shape; But sometimes there were multiple dovecotes in areas such as the city of Mobarakeh in Isfahan and the Talkhooncheh area, which had several towers, but now only a limited number remain.

Talkhooncheh has several pigeon towers, one of them was restored by the Isfahan Cultural Heritage Organization in 2006. This tower is 8 meters high and 6 square meters in diameter. This pigeon tower is about 120 years old. This tower is located next to the historical mosque of Hazrat Ghaem.
